The History of LVARS

The Lodi Volunteer Ambulance Rescue Squad has been proudly serving the community for over 55 years. This organization was started in 1962 by a determined group of young men who saw the need for emergency medicine for the citizens of Lodi, NJ. The Ambulance Corp began service with 8 members and 1 Oldsmobile Ambulance. Over the years we have adapted and have been involved numerous emergencies including the Napp Chemical Explosion, numerous flood details, and more recently on the 9-11 attacks. We now house 35 active members, 3 state of the art Type 3 ambulances, and one very unique fire rehab unit. We will continue to serve the citizens with pride and dignity now, and in the future where ever and when ever called.
